Our Services

Firemark Limited is a full-service Firestopping & Passive Fire Protection contractor devoted to assisting you with all of your passive fire protection and life safety management needs. The main objective is to prevent fire, smoke and toxic gases from spreading rapidly throughout the building, saving lives and help minimise smoke and fire damage to a building during a fire.

With over 50 years combined experience in the construction industry, Firemark Limited supply and install a wide range of Fire Stopping, Penetration Seals and Passive Fire Protection solutions. We can manage each stage of the project, from design through to product selection, installation and commissioning.

  • Firestopping (Penetration Seals, Linear Joint Seals)
  • Cavity Barriers
  • Structural Steel Protection
  • Compartmentation

With offices in Dublin & Cavan, we operate throughout Leinster and the Midlands and undertake projects ranging in size from a single fire seal to a complete programme of compartmentation to prevent the spread of fire and smoke and maintain structural integrity utilising the latest tested and approved products and application techniques.

Working with established manufacturers and suppliers, Firemark Limited have access to a wide range of Passive Fire Protection products to suit various design solutions and properties, including air and water permeability, movement and acoustic isolation as well as general construction sealants. We install only products manufactured to global standards including CE, UL, FM, AS, ASTM and ISO.

Firestopping

Fire stopping has three elements: (1) the fire-rated walls, partitions, floors or ceilings being penetrated (2) the cables, cable trays or conduits that make up the object creating the penetration and (3) the materials and methods used to seal the penetrations to prevent the spread of fire, smoke and toxic gases. Firestopping MUST be carried out using approved products and systems.

Penetration Seals

Where pipes, cables, conduits, ducts or other mechanical & electrical systems are used to pass through walls, floors or ceilings, fire stopping products are used to contain the fire within the compartmentalised room.  Various fire stopping products are available such as collars, batts, pillows and sealants or a combination of each to reduce the fire spreading between buildings through the service penetration.

Linear Gap Seal

Linear gap seals installed after the construction of the superstructure are designed to maintain a fire separating function of compartments whilst accommodating a degree of movement within a building. The construction and products used for linear joints must withstand this movement and are generally comprise of a low-density stone wool batts,  elastomeric foam or sealants which allows the expansion and contraction required.

Cavity Barriers

Cavity barriers are used in concealed spaces, the structure or fabric of a building, this is a prime importance since many buildings are honeycombed with concealed cavities and voids within the roofs, floors, and walls.

To comply with Building Regulation Part B a fire rated cavity closer should be used. A fire rated cavity closer can prevent the spread of fire for up to 1 hour. A purely insulated cavity closer without a fire rating will not actually comply with part B.

Structural Steel Protection

Boards are widely used for structural fire protection in Ireland and Firemark limited uses a variety of glass reinforced fibre boards to protect the structure from the exposure and to provide up to 240 minutes fire resistance unlike intumescent sprays which is limited to 120 minutes hours.

They are used both where the protection system is in full view and where it is hidden. They offer the Client a clean, boxed appearance and have the additional advantages that application is a dry trade and may not have significant impacts on other activities. Also, boards are factory manufactured and thicknesses can be guaranteed. Furthermore, boards can be applied on unpainted steelwork.

Compartmentation

Compartmentation is simply the division of a building into cells, using construction materials that will prevent the passage of fire from one cell to another for a given period of time. Firemark are specialists in compartmentation. Sub-dividing a building into compartments separated from one another by fire rated walls and ceilings to prevent rapid fire spread which could trap occupants of the building, and to reduce the chance of fires spreading to neighbouring structures.
